• Kamagong, also known as Asian ebony or ironwood, is a slow-growing tropical wood with no visible annual rings (there are no significant seasons in the tropics). Our ebony comes from the mountains where the climate is harsh, so the wood grows very slowly and becomes very hard and heavy. It has a dark color that varies from dark green to almost black. When Kamagong is carefully polished and waxed like our pieces, it has a velvety, shiny surface. This type of wood is then a real treat for the hands.
