Constructed from high-impact polypropylene, the Blackthorn range of poles is designed for strength and durability. Unlike real wooden poles, they won't crack, warp, swell or splinter. They are modelled on genuine blackthorn , but have been skilfully modified to look like they were taken from nature, and even surpass anything Mother Nature could ever produce! If nature provided absolutely perfect blackthorn poles, and you were lucky enough to own some, this is what they would look like.

Since its introduction, Cold Steel® Irish Blackthorn walking stick has been at the top of the popularity scale. Its good looks and durability have made it a classic that is often copied but never equaled!

Now Cold Steel® is pleased to be able to expand the range with a 'little brother'. This model is shorter, lighter and has been simply called the Blackthorn Shillelagh . Its design was inspired by an antique club from Lynn C. Thompson's private collection. Cold Steel's® Blackthorn Shillelagh is very close to the original in terms of look, feel and balance, but is made of impact-resistant polymer material and will therefore withstand the harshest weather conditions. With its highly polished wood-look pommel and its attractive shaft with a bark-like wood structure and protruding 'clipped thorns', this beautiful stick will attract everyone's attention - whether you carry it under your arm at a reenactment event or simply display it in your home.
