However, the specific design and intended use are crucial: objects clearly designed as striking/thrusting weapons can be classified as bladed and thrusting weapons under the Weapons Act; certain designs (e.g., steel rods / bludgeons) are even prohibited. For carrying in public, please observe § 42a Weapons Act — transport in a locked container or the way to training (legitimate interest) are typical exceptions. "Stabbing and thrusting weapons" (e.g., daggers, swords) are weapons in the sense of the German Weapons Act (WaffG); minors are generally not permitted to handle them, therefore, a sale to individuals under 18 is not considered. Common utility knives are legally usually not weapons; however, we reserve the right to conduct an age/identity check and sell weapon-like articles only to those 18+. The legal basis is the WaffG (definition/handling of weapons).

This depends on their intended use and design. Objects that are inherently designed as weapons are considered bladed/impact weapons (WaffG Annex 1). Many of our staffs are offered as sports/training equipment; nevertheless, depending on their use, weapon law classifications may be relevant. Carrying may be prohibited in restricted zones.
