256-layer Damascus blade in Broken-Back style
The defining element of the scramasax is its approx. 28 cm long blade made of 256-layer damascus steel. The characteristic lines in the so-called Broken-Back style are based on historical seax forms and give the knife its unmistakable silhouette.
Damascus steel is created by joining different layers of steel. This creates the typical surface pattern, which looks individual in each specimen. Small differences in the damascus pattern are due to material and manufacturing and make each piece visually unique.
Wood, animal bone and brass – handle with historical character
The handle combines wood, animal bone and brass. Towards the blade, the wooden handle is finished with a bone element and a brass ferrule. The pommel is also made of brass and has a practical lanyard hole.
Since wood and animal bone are natural materials, color, structure and grain may vary from specimen to specimen. These natural differences do not generally constitute a defect, but are part of the individual appearance of the material.
Decorated leather sheath with brass fittings
The scope of delivery includes a decorative leather sheath with brass fittings. Two leather loops attached to brass rings allow for a historically inspired horizontal attachment to a belt.
