Product Information:
A large part of the super-light knives in the new Nightshade™ series are detailed replicas of existing popular Cold Steel blades. Some are completely new creations.
The blades are made of Griv-Ex™, the latest in fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Griv-Ex™ is even more robust than Zy-Ex™, the super-hard material used in previous Cold Steel models. Each blade is also UV and heat stabilized and therefore weather resistant.
Among other things, these knives are characterized by their unique, deeply ribbed handles. The handle tangs were directly overmolded with Kray-Ex™. The use of Kray-Ex™ in the design of knife handles is an innovation by Cold Steel from the early eighties. This material offers a first-class, slightly adhesive surface that is insensitive to heat, cold or moisture. It will never rust, warp, crack or splinter, even under the toughest conditions.
