The Cold Steel 4-Max Elite is a large-sized and particularly robustly constructed pocket knife, developed in collaboration with renowned knifemaker Andrew Demko.

At its heart is the approximately 10.2 cm long drop-point blade made from CPM S35VN. This powder metallurgical knife steel combines high edge retention, toughness, and good corrosion resistance, and is often used in high-quality utility knives.

With an overall length of approximately 25.4 cm, a blade thickness of approximately 4.8 mm, and a weight of around 286 g, the 4-Max Elite is one of Cold Steel's particularly robustly dimensioned folding knives.

CPM S35VN – High-Quality Powder Metallurgical Blade Steel

The wide drop-point blade is made from CPM S35VN and features a stonewash finish. CPM S35VN is a powder metallurgical stainless steel developed for a balanced combination of edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening.

The stonewash finish gives the blade a subtle, matte surface and can make minor signs of use appear less noticeable.

Extra Wide Drop-Point Blade

The wide drop-point geometry offers a robust blade tip and a versatile cutting edge. This makes the knife suitable for numerous permissible cutting tasks in outdoor, leisure, and work environments.

G-10 Handle with Stable Construction

The approximately 15.2 cm long handle features 3D-machined G-10 scales. G-10 is a fiberglass-reinforced composite material used in high-quality knives due to its dimensional stability and durability.

Tri-Ad Lock by Andrew Demko

To lock the open blade, Cold Steel uses the Tri-Ad Lock developed by Andrew Demko. This locking system is based on a modified back-lock principle and is designed to distribute applied loads within the construction.

As with any folding knife, it should be checked before use that the blade is fully locked. No lock can guarantee complete protection against unintentional closing or injury if used improperly.
