Bahi wood is a Philippine hardwood that has been fire-hardened in addition to its natural strength. The wood is interwoven with crisscrossing fibers that significantly increase stability.

Sticks of this type are relatively heavy and very hard. Characteristic is the light brown-black speckled grain due to the wood's fiber structure.
